We are located just inside the main entrance of the “Metropolis Minneapolis” building, only a few blocks north of the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis on the corner of 15th Street N. and Chestnut Ave. We recommend that you do not follow the directions of online mapping services such as Google Maps or Mapquest since they sometimes fail to provide accurate turn-by-turn directions. Instead we recommend that you follow our directions below.
We are separated from downtown Minneapolis by the I-394 freeway and are in a highly accessible location just off of I-94 and I-394. The Metropolis Minneapolis building has two parking lots that offer FREE PARKING with great views of the Basilica of St. Mary and the Minneapolis skyline. Even the new Twins Stadium, Target Field, can be seen from the main parking lot.
Directions from I-94 Westbound:
Take Exit 231B (Lyndale/Hennepin Ave.) and follow Lyndale Ave. North to Hennepin Ave.
Keep Right and merge onto Hennepin Ave. at the Basilica of St. Mary.
Take your first Left next to the Basilica on Maple St./16th St. N. and follow it to Linden Ave.
Take a Right at Linden Ave. W., then take your first Left at 15th St. N. and you’ve arrived at the Metropolis Minneapolis building. Free parking is available in the front or side parking lot. Our theatre is located just inside the main doors of the building.
Directions from I-94 Eastbound:
Take Exit 231B (Lyndale/Hennepin Ave.) and take a Left at Dunwoody Ave.
Follow Dunwoody Ave. east as it turns into Hennepin Ave. at the Basilica of St. Mary.
Take a Left at Maple St./16th St. N. next to the Basilica and follow it to Linden Ave.
At Linden Ave. W. take a Right followed by your first Left at 15th St. N. and you’ve arrived at the Metropolis Minneapolis building. Free parking is available in the front or side parking lot. Our theatre is located just inside the main doors of the building.
Directions from I-394:
Take Exit 8A (Dunwoody Ave./Hennepin Ave.) and follow Dunwoody Ave. as it turns into Hennepin Ave. at the Basilica of St. Mary.
Take a Left at Maple St./16th St. N. next to the Basilica and follow it to Linden Ave.
At Linden Ave. W. take a Right followed by your first Left at 15th St. N. and you’ve arrived at the Metropolis Minneapolis building. Free parking is available in the front or side parking lot. Our theatre is located just inside the main doors of the building.
Directions from I-35N:
Take the I-94 West exit from I-35 North and stay in the right lane. Exit at Lyndale/Hennepin Ave. and follow Lyndale Ave. North to Hennepin Ave.

Take your first Left next to the Basilica on Maple St./16th St. N. and follow it to Linden Ave.

Take any W-NW bound street to Hennepin Ave. and follow Hennepin Ave. S-SW to Maple St./16th St. N. Take a Right onto 16th St. N. immediately adjacent to the Basilica of St. Mary and follow it north to Linden Ave. At Linden Ave. take a Right followed by your first Left at 15th St. N. and you’ve arrived at the Metropolis Minneapolis Building. Our theatre is located just inside the main doors of the building.
